The Role:
Newport News Shipbuilding offers internships designed to allow students to gain valuable experience in technical or administrative positions. These opportunities provide hands-on experience in their field of study and foster an understanding of the company’s business operations. While not guaranteed, an internship could potentially lead to future full-time employment.

Physical Requirements (for some positions):
Certain engineering, technical, and waterfront positions may necessitate the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul. This may involve the use of vertical and inclined ladders and could require limited kneeling, stooping, and standing.

Must Have (Requirements):
To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
• Be enrolled in a degree program that supports the company’s business requirements, typically in Supply Chain Management.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Official transcripts will be required.
Attend a college/university (undergraduate or graduate program) in the fall following the internship.
• Be enrolled in a 4-year college/university (or 2+2 program) or master’s degree program for Fall 2026.
• Be available to work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer.
