The Tone:
This is a Summer Legal Intern position at GenScript, located in Piscataway, NJ. GenScript is a global biotechnology group, established in 2002, with operations in North America, Europe, Greater China, and Asia Pacific. The company focuses on life science CRO, enzyme and synthetic biology products, biologics development and manufacturing, and cell therapy, aiming to be the most reliable biotech company to improve human and natural health through biotechnology. This internship program is designed to provide undergraduate students with professional growth and learning opportunities, enabling them to gain real-world employment experience that complements their academic studies.

• Team: Reports into the Head of US/EU Legal department
• Mission: This intern will assist the GenScript Legal Team with daily legal tasks, covering compliance, research, and administrative duties.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assistance: Provide daily legal support to GenScript Legal Team Members.
• Compliance: Contribute to a variety of legal and business-related compliance tasks.
• Research: Conduct legal and business-related research.
• Administration: Handle administrative tasks within the legal department.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree; a focus on Pre-Law, Legal, or Business Studies is preferred.
• Experience: Possess a basic understanding of biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry trends.
• Skills: Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, a proactive work attitude, effective time management, organizational capabilities, and good communication skills.
