About the Company:
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking non-engineering college students for summer employment in its 2025 Summer Employment Program. Job Description:
PennDOT offers various summer internship opportunities (May 1, 2025 – August 29, 2025) across different fields including accounting, fine arts, humanities, journalism, public administration, and social sciences. Interns will gain practical experience and contribute to PennDOT operations.
Internship locations are spread across PennDOT’s Engineering Districts, as detailed below. The availability of positions varies depending on operational needs and may not be available for every job title in each county. Applicants must check the PennDOT district map to see counties of interest and apply separately to each district’s internship postings.
Engineering District Locations:
• District 1: Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango, and Warren Counties
• District 2: Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Cameron, McKean, Potter, Mifflin, Elk, and Juniata Counties
• District 3: Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, Union, and Bradford Counties
• District 4: Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming Counties
• District 5: Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, and Schuylkill Counties
• District 6: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties
• District 8: Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, York, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and Perry Counties
• District 9: Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntingdon, and Somerset Counties
• District 10: Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Indiana, and Jefferson Counties
• District 11: Allegheny, Beaver, and Lawrence Counties
• District 12: Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties
Additional Information:
• The internships are full-time (May 1, 2025 – August 29, 2025).
• Work hours vary depending on the position.
