The Tone:
This is a summer internship at FOX 2/WJBK, located in Southfield, MI. FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations across the U.S., distributing sports, entertainment, syndicated content, and producing approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. This program offers college juniors and seniors the opportunity to gain direct, hands-on experience in the broadcasting industry, fostering a practical understanding of how a major newsroom operates.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Observe: Observe daily newsroom operations and broadcasting processes.
• Assist: Actively assist with various production tasks within a busy news environment.
• Contribute: Contribute to editorial tasks, supporting the broadcast news team.
• Learn: Learn directly from experienced professionals across different departments.
• Gain Exposure: Gain practical hands-on exposure in both Newsroom and Sports departments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be a college junior or senior majoring in Broadcast Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Experience: Must be available to intern a minimum of 3 days per week, 7 hours per day, and participate fully during the May – August summer semester.
• Skills: Fundamental understanding of broadcast communications and journalism principles.
