The Tone:
This is an internship at Glencore, located in New York, NY. This role is crucial for supporting the daily operations of the Nickel/Ferro Alloys trading desk, providing hands-on experience in commodity trading and supply chain management. The intern will gain unique exposure to international commodity markets within a leading global firm.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contract and Warehouse Management: Coordinate and manage all aspects of contract administration and warehouse functions.
• Inventory Management: Utilize an inventory control system to accurately record inventory levels and ensure material availability.
• Shipping and Logistics: Prepare shipping documents, coordinate import/export clearances, and arrange transportation for products.
• Financial Processing: Maintain inventory records, allocate movements within the trading system, and process material invoices and secondary costs.
• Reporting and Hedging: Prepare various reports for daily, monthly, and yearly inventory tracking, and ensure accurate booking of pricing and hedging.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an equivalent field with an excellent academic record.
• Experience: Demonstrated strong analytical, writing, and planning capabilities.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word; strong analytical skills; excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Bonus: A strong and genuine interest in international commodity markets, coupled with an ambitious, entrepreneurial, and eager-to-learn spirit.
