2027 Guardian Summer Intern, Corporate Finance & Risk – Financial Reporting and Accounting | Guardian

The Tone:
This is a paid 10-week internship at Guardian, located in Bethlehem, PA. Guardian is a thriving global financial services company where you will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments. You will engage in projects that directly affect our business, support the company’s financial integrity, and interact with senior leaders. This program provides realistic experiences and information about working at Guardian, and successful interns may be considered for the Finance Leadership Development Program. We are seeking candidates who are curious, adaptable, and excited to gain exposure to different areas of the Finance and Risk organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Monitoring: Support Guardian’s financial integrity by monitoring and reviewing administration system processing, including system-generated accounting.
• Monthly Close Support: Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to support the monthly financial close for Guardian’s Individual Markets business.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support various internal customers within the Finance & Risk organization.
• Professional Development: Work and learn from supportive leaders, mentors, and team members across the organization who will coach your professional career.
• Business Acumen: Learn about Guardian’s purpose, values, how we work, and our suite of product and service offerings while building a network of colleagues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current junior (expected graduation date of May 2028) with an interest in exploring multiple areas of Finance and Risk.
• Experience: Must be available for the full program dates from Thursday, May 27, 2027, to Friday, August 6, 2027.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an attention to details, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Eligibility: Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future for employment-based work authorization.
