Job Description
Job Title: Summer 2026 Internship – Software Engineering Intern

About The Role:
Dow Jones is seeking a creative and motivated individual to join its Development team as a Software Engineer Intern. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by contributing to Dow Jones’ sites and products, enhancing user engagement and technology optimization. Interns will utilize and contribute to shared technology platforms, stay current with cutting-edge web technology, and make impactful changes to heavily trafficked sites. The experience involves collaboration with highly skilled engineers, continuous learning, and sharing knowledge within a culture that fosters teamwork and diverse perspectives.
Key Responsibilities (You Will):
• Collaborate with engineers across various Dow Jones products to leverage shared technology.
• Understand and improve code development standards for shared applications and services.
• Research new technologies, presenting their pros and cons regarding business value, scalability, maintainability, and project delivery performance.
• Analyze complex technological problems and propose effective solutions.
• Delve into product requirements to understand desired goals, informing technical decisions.
• Prioritize and manage work effectively, adhering to project timelines in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
Qualifications (You Have):
• Completed at least two years towards a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• By Summer 2026, you must be a rising junior or rising senior in your undergraduate program.
• Familiarity with Javascript and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, node.js, next.js).
• Understanding of HTML5 capabilities and DOM manipulation.
• Knowledge of CSS, including Grid, Flexbox, and Media Queries.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
• A plus: Exposure to Docker, AWS, or other cloud/container-based application deployment.
Salary: $25.00/hour
