UNPAID STUDENT INTERNSHIP with various departments (Intern Pool) | County of Riverside

The Tone:
This is an unpaid student internship with the County of Riverside, located in Riverside County, CA. The County of Riverside is a large public service organization dedicated to serving its community through various departments. This role provides an opportunity for current students and recent graduates to gain valuable, supervised work experience in a specific professional vocation, contributing to the County’s operations and projects while developing practical skills.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Participate in the day-to-day assigned work alongside professional employees within a specific department.
• Research: Aid in special research, studies, surveys, and investigations, contributing to the compilation, tabulation, and analysis of information and data.
• Prepare: Help in the drafting of briefs, reports, evaluations, specifications, and plans.
• Attend: Participate in divisional and departmental staff meetings, preparing reports of observations, suggestions, and comments regarding departmental programs.
• Support: Perform sub-professional assignments that support the work of the professional staff.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment in, or recently graduated (within one year) from, a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at an accredited college or university in a program relevant to the specific internship, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Some positions may require current enrollment in an accredited graduate school program.
• Experience: Undergraduate or graduate students seeking supervised work experience in a specific professional vocation, such as accounting, administration, law, human resources, planning, probation, or social work.
• Skills: Ability to take direction and supervision; benefit and learn rapidly from on-the-job training; think logically and write clearly and concisely; compile data, perform arithmetical computations, analyze statistical data, and prepare reports.
