Summer 2027 Intern | LP Building Solutions

The Tone:
This is a 3-month internship program at LP Building Solutions, operating across multiple facilities in North and South America. Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, LP Building Solutions manufactures high-performance engineered wood building products and accessories, serving builders, remodelers, and homeowners globally. This internship is designed to identify and cultivate future leaders by providing valuable, challenging, and rewarding opportunities. The program aims to introduce talented students to the diverse career paths available within LP, fostering their professional growth and development.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, requiring travel to multiple manufacturing locations across North and South America

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Engineering: Contribute to significant engineering projects, gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing operations and process improvements related to engineered wood building products, potentially aligning with future roles as an Engineer or Reliability Engineer.
• Operations Management: Work alongside front-line supervision, observing and participating in the daily management of manufacturing processes, employee supervision, and initiatives aimed at operational efficiency, preparing for roles such as a Shift Supervisor.
• Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS): Engage in critical EHS initiatives, supporting the development and implementation of safety protocols, environmental compliance, and health programs within a manufacturing environment, laying groundwork for an EHS Manager position.
• Human Resources: Participate in various HR functions, supporting talent acquisition, employee relations, and professional development programs, while contributing to LP’s values-driven culture and fostering a rewarding workplace.
• Finance: Assist the finance team with operational budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting tasks, gaining exposure to the fiscal management of a leading building solutions provider and its diverse operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Completion of at least three years of schooling in Engineering, Wood Science/Construction, Forestry, Business/Leadership, Accounting/Finance, EHS, or Human Resources, pursuing a relevant degree.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest in gaining management experience within a manufacturing operation.
• Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building abilities.
• Bonus: Ability and desire to travel to multiple manufacturing locations.
