What You’ll Actually Do
• Environmental Program Support: Provide direct assistance to the Energy Delivery Environmental staff for various programs.
• Waste Characterization & Sampling: Assist with and perform waste sampling, characterization, and determinations for stormwater and oil pump outs.
• Compliance Documentation: Prepare EPA regulated waste markings, DOT hazardous material labels and placards, and complete shipping papers like manifests and bills of lading.
• Regulatory Research & Reporting: Conduct research, write reports, and prepare forms and plans as required by various environmental regulations.
• Training Coordination: Assist with the coordination of environmental compliance training for Energy Delivery Operations personnel.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, with an expected graduation date of May 2028 or later.
• Experience: Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during regular business hours, and up to 40 hours per week in person during the summer and school breaks.
• Skills: High level of interpersonal skills; ability to protect highly sensitive and confidential information; capacity to meet regular deadlines; effective verbal and written communication skills; functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products; ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
