President’s Intern (Student Employee) | Carroll Community College Foundation

The Tone:
This is a student employee role, functioning as an internship, at Carroll Community College Foundation, located in Westminster, MD. The Foundation supports Carroll Community College’s mission to serve its community. This role is crucial for bringing a student voice directly to the executive team, helping to shape and communicate the college’s vision and strategic initiatives to the wider community and fellow students. The intern acts as a vital link between the student body and college leadership, ensuring student perspectives are considered in strategic planning and public relations efforts.

• Mission: This person provides student feedback and promotes the college’s vision by representing the executive team and assisting with communications and events.
• Tech Stack: Mobile device, video editing apps and tools on mobile platforms

What You’ll Actually Do
• Student Representation: Act as a student representative of the executive team at various events, articulating and promoting the college’s vision and strategic initiatives.
• Content Curation: Assist in gathering and curating content for the President’s use, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the college.
• Social Media Engagement: Engage on the college’s social media platforms by sharing personal insights and experiences related to executive functions and college initiatives.
• Event Coordination: Coordinate with the Executive Associate to the President to schedule and prepare for events that involve executive team participation.
• Executive Meetings: Conduct regular meetings with the President to provide student feedback on initiatives and discuss potential improvements, and meet with the Chief Communications and Public Relations Officer to discuss ongoing executive communications.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in at least 6 billable hours, maintaining a 2.0 satisfactory academic progress. Must hold a high school diploma and demonstrate potential for leadership.
• Experience: Proactive engagement in campus and/or community activities. Reliable track record of handling confidential information sensitively and with integrity.
• Skills: Strong communication abilities, including a talent for public speaking and maintaining professionalism in diverse settings.
• Bonus: Ability to effectively use a mobile device for creating video content and other multimedia materials, and familiarity with basic video editing apps and tools on mobile platforms.
