The Tone:
This is an internship at Young Kim for Congress, located primarily in Temecula, CA, with offices also in Mission Viejo and some remote flexibility. The Young Kim for Congress campaign is a political organization dedicated to electing a Member of Congress and engaging with constituents. This internship program is designed for high school and college students seeking firsthand experience in a political environment, offering opportunities to contribute directly to campaign management, voter engagement, and community outreach. The role is critical for those looking to understand the inner workings of congressional elections and develop essential skills in public speaking, communication, and overall personal growth for their future careers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Campaign Management: Assist with the day-to-day operations of the campaign, providing direct support to various campaign management activities and helping to implement overall campaign strategies.
• Community Outreach: Participate actively in community outreach efforts, engaging directly with citizens to build relationships and broaden the campaign’s reach within the community.
• Voter Engagement: Engage directly with voters through various methods, including canvassing, to inform them about the campaign and increase overall voter participation in the electoral process.
• Event Support: Provide support for campaign events, assisting with preparation, execution, and follow-up to ensure smooth operations and effective public engagement.
• Communications: Manage various campaign communications, ensuring clear and effective information flow between team members, volunteers, and the public.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. This role is open to high school and college students eager to learn about congressional elections and the electoral process.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is strictly required. The ability to assist in the day-to-day operations of a political campaign and support campaign strategies is essential.
• Skills: Strong verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with team members and voters; an enthusiasm for government and civic engagement; a proactive and adaptable attitude, demonstrating a willingness to learn and contribute to the team’s objectives.
