• Mission: Assist the MCC Bookstore staff in daily operations, providing customer service, and supporting retail, inventory, and fulfillment functions.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Service: Greet and assist customers as they enter, browse, and exit the store.
• Merchandising: Assist with merchandising products, creating displays, and monitoring inventory by stocking shelves and coolers.
• Inventory Management: Assist with receiving, pricing, and stocking incoming merchandise efficiently.
• Order Fulfillment: Pull and process web orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Operational Support: Provide additional assistance during special events and peak periods, including general cleaning responsibilities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be enrolled in classes at MCC and meet Federal Work-Study eligibility requirements as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
• Experience: Ability to maintain reliable and punctual attendance within a flexible schedule of 5-15 hours per week.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively as part of a team in a customer-facing environment.
• Bonus: Bilingual proficiency (Spanish or other languages), basic understanding of a retail environment, highly self-motivated, disciplined, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, ability to multitask, basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills, prior customer service or work experience in a retail or campus setting.
