Accounting Services – Student Assistant | CSUSB Latino Alumni Chapter
The Tone:
This is a student assistant role at CSUSB Latino Alumni Chapter, located in San Bernardino, CA, requiring an on-campus presence. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting major to gain hands-on experience within a professional accounting environment. It is designed to help build foundational skills and apply classroom knowledge to real-world day-to-day accounting operations. You will work closely with experienced staff, gaining valuable insight into the profession.

• Mission: To provide foundational accounting support and administrative assistance, helping to maintain accurate financial records and daily operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Support: Support the accurate maintenance of journal entries and assist with month-end financial statement reconciliations.
• Administrative Tasks: Perform daily administrative duties, including managing phone inquiries, emails, and distributing correspondence.
• Document Processing: Manage the routing of Trust Fund Fact Sheets for necessary signatures and maintain precise records of these documents.
• Mail Handling: Record and monitor incoming checks received via mail for proper tracking.
• File Management: Contribute to organizing and maintaining both digital and physical filing systems for accounting records and storage.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be admitted or registered as a CSU student, enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate), or full-time for international students (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate), while maintaining a 2.0 GPA or greater.
• Experience: No prior experience explicitly required, but candidates should possess the ability to learn quickly and perform assigned work, follow oral instructions, and collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and other students. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is highly valued.
• Skills: Effective verbal and written communication, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational capabilities.
