Student Ambassador – Student Worker | Kishwaukee College

The Tone:

This role is crucial for engaging with prospective students and their families, ensuring they have a positive introduction to the college community and its offerings, and supporting key administrative functions across student services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Campus Tours: Schedule and deliver engaging campus tours for prospective students and their families, providing an informative and welcoming experience.
• Event Support: Assist with College-wide events such as Discover Kish, Visit Day, and graduation, including greeting visitors, guiding tours, and participating in student panels.
• Inquiry Response: Respond to general inquiries from prospective students face-to-face, via e-mail, and over the phone, covering topics like admissions, financial aid, and student support services.
• College Representation: Represent Kishwaukee College in a positive and professional manner by providing excellent customer service to all students and visitors.
• Administrative Assistance: Support the Student Services, Student Outreach, and/or Financial Aid Office by answering phones, assisting with applications, managing prospect information, and scheduling appointments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be a current Kishwaukee College student with a working knowledge of the college’s programs, services, and campus culture.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, experience organizing and processing documents, and practice assisting with general office tasks like data entry and phone management.
• Skills: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, confidence in public speaking, excellent customer service, creativity, problem-solving, initiative, critical thinking, and the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding student information (FERPA).
• Bonus: Flexibility of work hours to accommodate college events and peak periods.
