Structural Engineering Internship – Summer 2026 | AE2S (Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, LLC)

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, Grand Forks, ND

• Mission: To gain hands-on experience by assisting experienced engineers with structural analysis, design, and project documentation across various engineering projects.
• Tech Stack: Revit, AutoCAD, RAM, RISA, Enercalc, Mathcad

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Perform structural analysis and design calculations under the supervision of licensed engineers.
• Documentation: Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical reports for structural projects.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met.
• Site Visits: Conduct construction observation and generate site reports for inter-discipline projects.
• Compliance: Review construction submittals to ensure they conform with project plans and specifications.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Academic progress of at least one semester towards a bachelor’s degree, with a minimum GPA of 3.0; ability to travel as required. Preferred experience includes completion of at least four semesters towards a degree and familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or structural design software such as RAM, RISA, Enercalc, and Mathcad.
• Skills: Structural analysis, design calculations, technical report drafting, construction site reporting.
• Bonus: Active involvement in campus organizations or volunteer groups.
