Description: Structural Engineering Intern

WSP USA’s Power & Energy Onshore Renewables team in Irvine, CA, seeks a full-time Structural Engineering Intern for a 12-week summer internship program starting May 19th, 2025 (flexible start date possible). This internship is part of WSP’s summer internship program, which includes mentorship, networking, and career connections through their Developing Professionals Network.

Responsibilities:

• Support various engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn fundamental Structural Engineering principles.
• Assist with project research, fieldwork, preliminary design calculations, and analysis.
• Support the preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Aid in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete assigned training.
• Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Active enrollment in an accredited Structural Engineering (or related) Undergraduate program, with an anticipated graduation date of August 2025 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Structural Engineering and a desire to enhance skills relevant to WSP’s work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions from leadership.
• Basic proficiency in technical writing, office software, and tools.
• Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Currently pursuings:

• Enrollment in an accredited Structural Engineering (or related) Masters or PhD program, with an anticipated graduation date of August 2025 or later.
• Prior internship and campus leadership experience.

Compensation:

$19.13 – $30.00 per hour (This is a range; actual pay may vary based on experience and location. No relocation or housing assistance is provided.)
