Strategy and Operations Intern | TimelyCare

The Tone:
This is an internship role at TimelyCare, a clinically accountable virtual care provider built specifically for education, trusted by nearly 500 campuses nationwide. The company offers a comprehensive range of virtual health services, including mental health counseling, medical care, crisis support, and more, all designed to champion student well-being. This Strategy & Operations Intern position is critical for evaluating new growth opportunities, supporting operational improvements, and driving high-priority strategic initiatives within the Care Transformation Team. You will work directly with the Director of Strategy & Operations to develop data-driven recommendations that significantly influence the company’s strategic direction and enhance its real-world impact on healthier learning environments.

• Team: Care Transformation Team, within the Care department, reporting to the Director of Strategy & Operations, Care Transformation.
• Mission: To tackle ambiguous business challenges and develop recommendations that influence strategic decision making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Conduct Research: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assess emerging trends, market opportunities, and competitive dynamics within the virtual care and education sectors.
• Analyze Data: Analyze internal and external data to identify key insights, quantify opportunities, and validate strategic recommendations for care transformation and growth.
• Manage Projects: Structure and manage project plans for assigned strategic initiatives, ensuring that milestones, deliverables, and timelines remain consistently on track.
• Communicate and Collaborate: Partner with cross-functional leaders to gather inputs, test assumptions, build compelling presentations, and communicate findings to stakeholders, helping to inform and refine recommendations for senior leadership.
• Improve Operations: Support operational improvement initiatives that increase organizational effectiveness and scalability, including helping to evaluate and define business processes, workflows, reporting needs, and operating models to support future growth.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an MBA program, completed an MBA, or planning to begin an MBA in the near future. Non-MBA candidates with relevant operator experience are also welcome.
• Experience: 3-5+ years experience in consulting, strategy, startups, technology, healthcare, finance, operations, or education is preferred.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, ability to bring actionable steps to ambiguity, excellent written and oral communication skills, and confidence in independent problem-solving combined with the humility to seek input and refine recommendations.
