What You’ll Actually Do
• Statutory Reporting: Prepare various statutory financial reports, including quarterly and annual statements for external audiences, which involves researching and interpreting relevant rules and regulations.
• State Reporting & Compliance: Manage quarterly and annual state reporting for multiple insurance companies, ensuring accurate data input into various forms and adherence to regulations.
• Assessment & Database Management: Pay monthly, quarterly, and annual state assessments, diligently maintaining a comprehensive state reporting database with detailed assessment information.
• Intercompany Financials: Handle Plan-to-Plan (P2P) payments, including preparing check requests for various providers and accurately posting journal entries to record all P2P activity.
• Financial Integrity & Projects: Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and monthly intercompany settlements to ensure financial integrity, and perform special projects as needed, coordinating data compilation with other areas and addressing escalated issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management, or 4 years of accounting experience. A fundamental knowledge of basic accounting principles is required.
• Experience: Experience working with Financial Systems is essential. The role also requires proficiency in statistical data analysis.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office and Access. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, specifically good grammar and clear, concise word choice.
• Bonus: Customer service experience and at least 1 year of account reconciliation experience are preferred qualifications.
