The Tone:

• Mission: Perform day-to-day corporate accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accurate records, timely reconciliations, and SOX compliance.
• Tech Stack: SAP general ledger, Hyperion Financial Management

What You’ll Actually Do
• Resolve Discrepancies: Through research and follow-up, ensure that reconciling items and discrepancies in accounting data are resolved in a timely manner.
• Support Audits and Compliance: Prepare, peer-review, and provide documents such as reconciliations, supporting schedules, and process maps to external auditors and the SOX group by requested deadlines.
• Improve Systems and Processes: Participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of accounting systems and related interfaces, recommending modifications to improve internal control, efficiency, or reduce costs.
• Research Technical Accounting: Assist with researching, documenting, and implementing conclusions regarding technical accounting treatment for non-routine transactions and new accounting pronouncements.
• Evaluate and Enhance Efficiency: Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes, procedures, and accounting assumptions on an ongoing basis, recommending and assisting in process improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent education/experience, focusing on fundamental accounting principles, US GAAP, and internal controls.
• Experience: 1-2 years of combined public accounting experience or experience in a large public company corporate accounting department.
• Skills: Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, and Excel; excellent knowledge of technical accounting matters, US GAAP, and SEC regulations.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA, or related disciplines; Certified Public Accountant (CPA); knowledge of SAP general ledger and Hyperion Financial Management reporting tool.
