Staff Accountant – UHNW Family Office | Advice Personnel

The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role, allowing for two days remote, at an established Ultra-High-Net-Worth Family Office, located in Midtown, New York. The firm manages the sophisticated financial affairs for an ultra-high-net-worth family, and this newly created position is due to its continued growth. This role is vital for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting comprehensive monthly financial reporting across various entities. What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Keeping: Maintain the day-to-day accounting records for the family office and its related entities, ensuring financial activity is accurately reflected in the general ledger.
• Cash Management: Handle the accounting and documentation associated with checks, wire transfers, deposits, and other cash movements.
• Account Reconciliation: Complete monthly reconciliations for bank and related financial accounts, reviewing account activity, researching discrepancies, and making necessary adjustments.
• Reporting Support: Participate in the monthly reporting cycle, including close support, preparing account schedules, and assisting with financial statement preparation.
• Document Management: Organize and maintain complete and easily accessible electronic files for financial documents and supporting materials.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; early career accounting professional with exposure to either real estate or high net worth accounting.
• Experience: 1-4 years of relevant bookkeeping, accounting, or family office support experience; prior experience working with HNW / UHNW individuals, a family office, real estate firm, or a CPA firm with real estate or HNW clients.
• Skills: Sound understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial documentation; highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities; resourceful, proactive, and hands-on; strong judgment, discretion, professionalism, and integrity when handling confidential matters.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Yardi Voyager; experience with investment activity, partnership accounting, trusts, real estate, or multiple related entities.
