What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Close & Reporting: Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by assisting with the preparation of comprehensive financial statements and all necessary supporting schedules.
• Daily Accounting Operations: Perform daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations with meticulous attention to detail, maintaining general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping.
• Transaction Processing & Control: Manage all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense allocations, vendor reconciliations, and wire activity, while also assisting with monitoring brokerage operational controls.
• Regulatory Compliance & Audit Support: Support the preparation of complex broker-dealer regulatory reports and related documentation, including assisting with net capital and reserve requirement calculations. Prepare all necessary documentation and schedules for successful internal and external audits.
• Process Enhancement & Ad Hoc Projects: Actively contribute to improvements in accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls. Additionally, assist with payroll accounting, tax reporting, and various ad hoc accounting and financial projects as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, indicating an entry-level career stage.
• Experience: Possess 1 or more years of preferred experience in accounting, audit, financial services, public accounting, securities, or a broker-dealer environment.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong Excel proficiency, familiarity with accounting systems, keen attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills.
• Bonus: Progress toward or completion of CPA certification, coupled with an interest in developing specialized knowledge of broker-dealer accounting and regulatory reporting.
