Junior Staff Accountant | Confidential

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Confidential, located in Los Angeles, CA. Confidential is a growing fashion brand. This role is critical for managing customer billing, cash application, collections, and month-end close processes, working closely with sales, operations, and leadership. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a creative environment.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Own the full accounts receivable cycle and support month-end close processes to ensure accurate financial data.
• Tech Stack: ERP or accounting systems (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar), Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Receivable Cycle: Own the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, cash application, and collections.
• Customer Invoicing: Prepare and issue customer invoices across wholesale, e-commerce, and specialty accounts.
• Payment Application and Monitoring: Apply customer payments accurately and timely, research and resolve discrepancies, and monitor aging reports to follow up on past-due balances.
• Close Processes: Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and reconciling the AR subledger to the general ledger.
• Cross-functional Partnership: Partner with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service to manage billing questions, chargebacks, deductions, disputes, and support customer account setup and maintenance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, with a heavy emphasis on Accounts Receivable.
• Experience: Must have experience within retail or an inventory-based business. Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and various formulas. Experience with ERP or other accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or QuickBooks.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and follow-through. Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with both internal teams and external customers.
• Bonus: Experience specifically within fashion, apparel, consumer goods, or wholesale environments.
