Staff Accountant | Arcwood Environmental

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Operations: Develop expertise across core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, cash application, and general ledger activities.
• Financial Close: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review location-level financial statements and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.
• Internal Controls: Support the maintenance of strong internal controls and accurate financial records throughout the organization.
• Financial Analysis: Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities, partnering with leadership to support operational decision-making.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required). This is an early-career role, welcoming recent or upcoming college graduates.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience in accounting (preferred).
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to identify process improvements, knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards, proficiency in financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Bonus: CPA Certification (preferred).
