Staff Accountant | Allen & Roberts, PLLC

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Prepare business and individual tax returns, including forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S.
• Payroll & Bookkeeping: Handle payroll services, prepare quarterly payroll reports, and perform bookkeeping tasks such as reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Financial Closing Support: Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records.
• Client Communication: Communicate with team members to gather necessary documentation, resolve discrepancies, and answer routine questions professionally.
• Project Assistance: Support senior accountants and partners with special projects, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and firm procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field, along with foundational accounting knowledge including GAAP, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience: Proficiency with accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms, and productivity tools such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy; effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
• Bonus: Prior experience in tax preparation is beneficial, and a commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical standards in all aspects of work.
