This Staff Accountant I role is integral to the monthly close process, financial reporting, and maintaining the integrity of financial records, directly supporting the company’s long-term mission.

• Team: Finance & Accounting
• Mission: Owns the application of accounting principles to analyze and interpret financial information, prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist in the preparation of financial reports, playing an integral role in the monthly close process.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, SAP (preferred), Power Query (preferred), Power Pivot (preferred), Tableau (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Apply accounting principles to analyze financial information, prepare and post journal entries, and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain and monitor accounting records related to disbursements, expenses, tax payments, income, and other general ledger activities.
• Cash Management: Process cash transactions for multiple domestic and international entities, ensuring timely and accurate recording of cash receipts, disbursements, and bank transfers.
• Reconciliation & Accuracy: Prepare account reconciliations, research variances, and record correcting entries as needed to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Compliance & Improvement: Support compliance with accounting policies and internal controls, prepare audit schedules, and recommend process improvement initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. This is an early career role with a general understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience: 0-2 years of accounting experience. Internship experience or exposure to corporate accounting environments is a plus, and required experience includes preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets while maintaining data integrity. Candidates must also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional organizational skills, and demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
• Bonus: Experience with SAP; knowledge of Power Query, Power Pivot, and/or Tableau; or exposure to financial reporting, audit support, or technical accounting research.
