This is a full-time Staff Accountant role for The Greene Group’s client, a growing, private equity-backed sports and entertainment company headquartered in Chicago. The role is vital for supporting the client’s financial operations and growing with a high-profile organization, establishing and maintaining accurate financial records.

• Mission: This role is dedicated to establishing and maintaining accurate financial records and supporting crucial accounting functions, directly enabling the efficient financial operations of a growing sports and entertainment client.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable: Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, vendor payments, and managing vendor relationships.
• Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable processes, encompassing invoicing, collections follow-up, and cash application.
• Payroll & Benefits: Process recurring payroll using ADP and administer day-to-day 401(k) operations, including contributions and employee support.
• Month-End Close: Support month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, accruals, and conducting bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Financial Operations: Maintain accurate financial records, assist with annual audit requests, and utilize AI tools to streamline reconciliation and reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 1+ years of accounting experience, with hands-on QuickBooks experience required.
• Skills: Tech-savvy with strong Excel skills, comfort learning new tools including AI, and a solid understanding of GAAP and month-end close fundamentals.
• Bonus: ADP or payroll processing experience, and a background in sports, media, or agency settings.
