Staff Accountant | Mem Global
The Tone:
This is an early career opportunity at Mem Global, located in Chicago, IL, with a hybrid work schedule. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely execution of daily accounting operations, maintaining financial records, and supporting month-end close activities. • Team: Reports to the Controller and works closely with the Senior Staff Accountant.
• Mission: This role executes day-to-day accounting operations with accuracy and timeliness to support the finance department and maintain financial integrity.
• Tech Stack: Bill.com, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp
What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Processing: Process vendor invoices accurately and timely using Bill.com and Sage Intacct.
• Vendor Management: Create and maintain vendor records across multiple accounting and banking systems, coordinating onboarding with internal teams and vendors.
• Payment Preparation: Prepare ACH, check, and wire payments for review and approval, supporting both domestic and international processes.
• Accounts Receivable Support: Assist with accounts receivable activities, including customer billing, invoices, statements, and related schedules.
• Month-End Close Support: Support month-end close by preparing reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other necessary accounting documentation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or another analytical field, or four years of additional related professional experience.
• Experience: At least three years of full-time professional work experience, including an internship or prior experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, banking, operations, payroll, or administrative support. Prior experience using accounting or ERP software such as Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems, and with AP automation platforms like Bill.com or Ramp.
• Skills: Demonstrated attention to detail, strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Progress towards a CPA or other professional certification, and familiarity with nonprofit organizations or nonprofit accounting.
