Staff Accountant | Pomelo Care
The Tone:

This Staff Accountant role is crucial for building a best-in-class accounting function, supporting day-to-day financial activities, and ensuring accurate reporting to aid in better decision-making and transparency for a rapidly growing organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations: Support the day-to-day accounting operations of Pomelo Care, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Closing: Assist with monthly financial closes, including creating monthly journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance of financial tools and systems.
• Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close package reporting, including managing intercompany allocations and accumulating financial data for consolidated results.
• Processes: Partner with the accounting team and cross-functional stakeholders to build, implement, maintain, and support accounting processes, systems, and internal controls, including offering recommendations for improvement and managing compliance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience at a startup and/or public accounting company.
• Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong collaborative analytical and problem-solving abilities, ability to adapt to changing priorities, desire to learn and develop skills, experience with ERP systems and proficiency in accounting software like NetSuite.
• Bonus: CPA license (current or in process).
