Staff Accountant | National Irrigation Services

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Processing: Prepare and accurately post routine journal entries for daily business transactions across multiple entities, and meticulously review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activity for completeness before processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports in a timely manner.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate general ledger support, subsidiary ledgers, inventory records, and all necessary financial documentation to ensure data integrity and audit readiness.
• Reconciliations & Close: Perform thorough monthly bank account and petty cash reconciliations, reconcile transactions across multiple business locations, actively investigate and resolve any discrepancies, and assist with recurring month-end close activities and accounting data entry.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare financial reports for individual business locations as well as consolidated reporting when needed, assist with quarterly reviews and annual audit preparation, and help ensure strict compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and established procedures.
• Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing accounting processes, streamline workflows, and increase overall operational efficiency across the finance function.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, demonstrating foundational knowledge in financial principles.
• Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience, specifically within a corporate or multi-entity environment, involving general ledger activities and financial operations.
• Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency (formulas, sorting, filtering, formatting), exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Bonus: Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Intuit Enterprise Suite, or NetSuite, and familiarity with ServiceTitan is a plus but not required.
