This is a hybrid role at a client of Robert Half, primarily in-office with remote Fridays. Robert Half is connecting talent with a client organization that is seeking to bolster its accounting team. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of daily accounting operations, encompassing various financial transactions and record-keeping. By assisting with the monthly close process, this position directly contributes to timely and reliable financial reporting, ensuring the client’s compliance with internal procedures and supporting informed business decisions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide comprehensive general ledger support, meticulously performing account analysis and ensuring accurate reconciliations of various financial accounts.
• Process: Prepare and post journal entries with precision, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to reflect financial transactions correctly.
• Contribute: Assist effectively with the critical month-end close process, contributing to all related accounting activities to meet deadlines.
• Reconcile: Support the integrity of financial data by contributing to balance sheet reconciliations and diligently maintaining accurate financial records.
• Analyze: Utilize Advanced Excel skills proficiently for in-depth analysis, comprehensive financial reporting, and efficient data management tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional.
• Experience: Required experience includes demonstrated proficiency with general ledger support, the accurate preparation and posting of journal entries, and active assistance with the month-end close process. Prior experience specifically in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role is preferred.
• Skills: Essential skills include advanced Excel proficiency, encompassing the ability to work with large datasets, complex formulas, and various reporting tools. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and robust analytical ability are also critical for success.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred. Professional communication skills and a team-oriented approach are highly valued for collaborating within the finance department and with internal stakeholders.
