Staff Accountant | JTS Associates CPAs, P.C.

This is an in-person, full-time Staff Accountant role at JTS Associates CPAs, P.C., located in our Westbury, NY office. What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Compliance & Advisory: Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, and actively assist with tax research, planning, and consulting activities for a diverse client base.
• Comprehensive Accounting Support: Assist with all phases of accounting engagements, which includes performing bank and general ledger reconciliations, executing month- and year-end accounting procedures, and preparing payroll processing, payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, and bookkeeping.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, manage multiple engagements simultaneously, and collaborate effectively with both clients and internal staff.
• Professional Development & Ownership: Take on increasing engagement and client responsibilities as skills and experience develop, contributing to continuous professional growth and long-term career advancement.
• Collaborative Teamwork: Work directly and collaboratively with senior leadership and team members to deliver high-quality services within a professional, friendly, and supportive work environment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Experience: 1-2 years of recent public accounting tax experience, including the preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, and exposure to tax research and planning. Required experience also includes bookkeeping, payroll processing, payroll tax returns, and sales tax returns.
• Skills: Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and client service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment, communicate professionally with clients and staff, and take increasing ownership of assigned work.
• Bonus: CPA licensure, CPA eligibility, or progress toward meeting the CPA requirements. Experience with CCH Axcess Tax. Experience with trust & estate tax returns.
