Staff Accountant | Agilysys

The Tone:
This is a full-time, early career position at Agilysys, located in Alpharetta, GA. Agilysys delivers state-of-the-art software and services built exclusively for hospitality, helping organizations beyond traditional property management (PMS), point-of-sale (POS), and food and beverage inventory systems. This role is a critical shared resource for the Accounting and Tax functions, supporting the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial reporting and compliance obligations. It provides an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure across financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and indirect tax within a publicly traded, global organization.

• Team: Reports to the Accounting Manager with a dotted-line relationship to the Senior Director of Tax
• Mission: This person supports the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance obligations across corporate accounting and tax functions.
• Tech Stack: NetSuite (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record: Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and monthly close activities.
• Manage: Prepare and maintain reconciliations and supporting documentation for tax-related accounts, including sales tax, VAT, and other indirect tax liabilities.
• Consolidate: Gather, organize, and validate financial information from domestic and international entities to support consolidations and reporting.
• Report: Support quarterly and annual financial reporting processes, including preparation of schedules and documentation for SEC reporting requirements.
• Audit: Provide audit support by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to internal and external auditor requests.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; an early-career accounting professional.
• Experience: 0-2 years of accounting, tax, auditing, or finance experience; internship, co-op, public accounting, or corporate accounting experience preferred; basic understanding of U.S. GAAP principles.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field preferred; experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite; CPA eligibility or pursuit of CPA certification.
