Staff Accountant | Archer Lewis
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Archer Lewis, located in Montpelier, VT, with potential for a hybrid arrangement after training. Archer Lewis is a national accounting and advisory firm established in 2024 from local practice mergers, leveraging over 70 years of legacy, with over 600 professionals across 40+ offices serving 65,000+ clients. This role supports accounting and tax functions across various client engagements. The Staff Accountant works to ensure accurate financial records, timely completion of accounting activities, and quality service delivery, while developing a strong technical foundation in financial reporting, tax compliance, and client service.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Operations: Prepare and post routine journal entries to the general ledger and perform monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting Support: Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, maintain accurate financial records, and support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Tax Compliance Assistance: Aid in the preparation of individual, partnership, corporate, and other business tax returns, including gathering and validating financial data.
• Regulatory Response: Support tax research projects and assist with responses to tax notices, audit requests, and other regulatory inquiries.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Accountants and Senior Accountants on client engagements and special projects, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
