Staff Accountant | Coesia S.p.A.

The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role at Coesia S.p.A., primarily located in Crescent Springs, KY, with flexibility for remote work. Coesia is a prominent global group specializing in innovation-based industrial and packaging solutions, recognized for its leadership in automation across diverse industries, from processing and packaging machinery to digital printing technologies and precision gears. As part of our Young Professionals Program, this role is essential for new talent to gain hands-on experience, contribute to key business functions, and develop a broad understanding of the organization through structured development paths. The Staff Accountant will manage and oversee critical North American financial activities, ensuring accurate accounting and tax records, timely monthly closings, and compliance with statutory and tax filings.

• Team: Reports to Controller Manager in Crescent Springs, KY and functionally to R.A Jones Finance Manager.
• Mission: Manages and provides oversight of Coesia North American financial activities, including accounting and tax records, actual monthly closings, statutory and tax filings, and account reconciliation.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Power BI, Tableau, Power Query, Power Automate, Copilot, Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital finance tools, business intelligence tools.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monthly Closing: Support the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely completion of accounting activities in coordination with North American legal entities and cross-functional teams.
• General Ledger Management: Perform general accounting activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling general and sub-ledgers, and maintaining accurate accounting records in line with company policies.
• Audit & Compliance: Assist with account reconciliation activities, ensuring compliance with established controls, and support both external and internal auditors by providing necessary documentation and schedules.
• Financial Reporting: Support the Finance Manager in preparing management reports, ad hoc analyses, and business presentations, while collaborating with other finance functions for reporting and analysis.
• Process Optimization: Contribute to the effective use of SAP and other digital finance tools, participating in projects focused on process optimization, automation, and digital transformation within the Finance organization.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial concepts.
• Experience: 0-2 years of accounting, finance, internship, or co-op experience is required. Manufacturing experience is considered a valuable asset.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail. Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and a strong aptitude for learning new systems and technologies are essential. Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, are also key.
• Bonus: Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is preferred but not required. An interest in data analytics, reporting, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Power Query, along with curiosity about emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and automation, is a significant plus.
