The Tone:
This is a Staff Accountant role at Daisy Brand, located in a hybrid model in Dallas, TX, with an anticipated move to North Plano, TX in September 2027. Daisy Brand is a family-owned market leader in sour cream and cottage cheese, known for consistency and quality across five generations. This role is a key resource within the Accounting & Finance department, supporting senior accounting professionals by tracking and reporting vital financial information essential for ongoing operations and success. The Staff Accountant’s contributions are critical in maintaining a strong accounting foundation for the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries while understanding their potential impact on the General Ledger.
• Reconciliations: Reconcile various balance sheet accounts as assigned to ensure accuracy.
• Expense Analysis: Analyze and research expense activity to ensure proper timing and classification in accordance with corporate policy and US GAAP.
• Process Improvement: Evaluate current accounting procedures and make recommendations that lead to cost reductions and other efficiencies, contributing to best practices.
• Special Projects: Carry out special projects and other assigned duties, delivering ad-hoc requests in a timely manner.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline such as Accounting Information Systems (AIS), Master of Science in Accounting and Information Technology (MSAIT), Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Analytics, or AI for Business; sound knowledge of GL accounting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience: Not specified, but includes part-time or internship experience in an accounting role as a plus.
• Skills: Exceptional computer literacy with Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and Power Automate/Power Apps; strong interest in AI, machine learning, automation, and analytics in an accounting context; strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Bonus: Part-time or internship experience in an accounting role; exposure to accounts payable; previous experience with ERP software.
