Staff Accountant | Aristotle
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Aristotle, located in Los Angeles, CA (hybrid). Aristotle is a majority employee-owned investment management organization specializing in equity and fixed income portfolio management for institutional and advisory clients globally. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate and timely financial data, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, and contributing to the firm’s overall financial health and client success.

• Mission: This role ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial data, supporting key accounting functions like accounts payable, general ledger, and month-end close.
• Tech Stack: NetSuite, Tipalti, Ramp, Microsoft Word, Excel
What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable: Process accounts payable and review invoices, ensuring signatory authority, approval limits, correct coding, and timely payments to vendors.
• Month-End Close: Assist with the month-end and year-end closing process, including booking journal entries, reconciling accounts, identifying variances, and preparing financial statement support.
• Expense Management: Review corporate card expenses and employee reimbursements for compliance with company policies, and support employees with related questions and training.
• Internal Controls: Support the implementation and documentation of procedures necessary to maintain and improve internal controls.
• Audit Support: Assist with year-end audits and quarterly reviews, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to related requests.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Entry-Level career experience.
• Experience: 1-2 years of progressive general accounting and/or corporate finance experience.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of US GAAP; strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills (lookups, formulas, pivot tables); highly detail-oriented, organized, and accurate; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: CPA license; experience with NetSuite, Tipalti, or Ramp.
