Staff Accountant – Hybrid | Segrera Associates

This is a Staff Accountant role offering a hybrid work arrangement at Segrera Associates, a company actively expanding its accounting capabilities. Joining a growing accounting team, this position is essential for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of daily financial records. The Staff Accountant will play a direct role in executing core accounting activities, from preparing journal entries to assisting with the month-end close process. This critical support ensures the smooth operation of financial processes and contributes significantly to the team’s overall efficiency and reliability in financial reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Transactions: Precisely prepare all necessary journal entries and perform comprehensive account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy across financial ledgers.
• Support Closing Processes: Provide hands-on assistance with both month-end and year-end close procedures, contributing to timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain Account Integrity: Proactively manage and maintain detailed balance sheet schedules, including entries for accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets.
• Generate Financial Insights: Develop and prepare various financial reports and conduct analytical reviews to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Facilitate Operations & Projects: Offer essential support to accounts payable functions as required, and actively assist with internal and external audits, alongside other special accounting projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional with a strong foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and a comprehensive understanding of the entire accounting cycle.
• Experience: Requires 2 to 4 years of dedicated hands-on accounting experience, specifically encompassing proficiency in month-end close procedures and the execution of thorough account reconciliations.
• Skills: Demonstrates strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
• Bonus: Prior experience with ERP or other dedicated accounting systems is highly preferred. Candidates must also be organized, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.
