What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Closing: Prepare and execute comprehensive month-end close procedures on a timely basis, which includes accurately generating journal entries in the general ledger and performing detailed analysis of variances in account balances.
• Reconciliation & Resolution: Perform assigned daily and monthly balance sheet reconciliations using M-Files, promptly investigating and clearing any reconciling items through consistent communication with departments such as Loan Servicing, Cash and Deposit Operations, and Human Resources.
• Vendor Compliance: Execute OFAC compliance reviews for all new vendors as well as the regular vendor listing to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Audit Preparedness & Improvement: Drive audit compliance within the specific financial areas for which you are responsible, concurrently managing and improving existing documentation procedures related to these assigned activities.
• Accounts Payable Processing: Analyze and accurately process accounts payable invoices within the Concur software system, ensuring proper recording and timely payment.
• Ad Hoc Support: Contribute effectively to various special projects and fulfill ad hoc requests from the corporate controller’s team, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, coupled with a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and specific bank accounting principles.
• Experience: Possess 1-3 years of direct experience within a banking environment, with the qualification of being a CPA or actively seeking CPA certification highly valued.
• Skills: Demonstrate PC proficiency, including strong practical skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word; exhibit the ability to complete tasks efficiently and work autonomously; possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a strong service and team orientation. A passion and curiosity for continuously learning how various technological systems, including AI, can enhance work is essential.
• Bonus: Prior experience utilizing Finxact core banking and Prologue general ledger systems is considered a significant advantage.
