Staff Accountant | RMS USA

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at RMS USA, located in North Andover, MA. RMS is a rapidly expanding company within the toy and licensing industry, and its finance team is scaling significantly to support this growth. As a Staff Accountant, you will join a lean, tight-knit group where every person has real visibility and a direct impact on operations. This hands-on position encompasses the full accounting cycle, providing an environment where your contributions are noticed, and your ideas can genuinely shape how the department functions. This role is ideal for someone who wants to actively participate in building out RMS USA’s financial infrastructure, rather than just maintaining existing processes.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: 8-hour shift
• Location: In-person – North Andover, MA
• Pay: $55000–$65000 yearly
• Mission: To contribute hands-on across the full accounting cycle, meticulously preparing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and providing insightful data to support the strategic growth of the finance team in the toy industry.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis), ERP systems or accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks)

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Management: Prepare and post accurate journal entries, including accruals and adjustments, to the general ledger.
• Close Processes & Reconciliation: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, performing detailed account reconciliations for bank, credit card, and intercompany accounts.
• Asset Management & Data Analysis: Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, including depreciation schedules, and analyze financial data to provide variance explanations for management reporting.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Contribute to preparing financial statements and supporting schedules, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies.
• Audit Support & Collaboration: Support external and internal audit requests by preparing documentation and schedules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, demonstrating a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fundamental accounting principles.
• Experience: Possess 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting, general ledger management, or financial reporting functions, coupled with practical experience utilizing ERP systems or other widely-used accounting software such as NetSuite, SAP, or QuickBooks.
• Skills: Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and comprehensive data analysis; demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; and show an ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting tight deadlines.
