The Tone:
This is a hybrid full-time Staff Accountant role for a longstanding client of Solomon Page, a specialty niche provider of staffing and executive search solutions. The client is seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage critical accounting functions related to compliance reporting, inventory management, and general accounting. This position is open due to an internal promotion, offering significant growth opportunities and a clear path for career advancement within the organization. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the accounting team and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

• Mission: This person ensures accurate inventory reporting, compliance, and general accounting support for the financial close process.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inventory Management: Conduct monthly raw materials and bulk inventory cycle counting.
• Reporting & Compliance: Assist in the preparation of monthly inventory reporting and federal and state compliance reports.
• General Ledger Reconciliation: Reconcile raw materials accounts with the General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
• AP & Allocation Support: Provide guidance to the accounts payable team, record necessary corrections, and ensure proper raw material consumption, overhead, and excise tax allocations.
• Financial Close Support: Record journal entries and prepare reconciliations as necessary for the financial close process.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business, with a general knowledge of accounting regulations and practices.
• Experience: Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with accounting systems.
• Skills: Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills, demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, and a detail-oriented, professional attitude.
• Bonus: CPA preferred.
