What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Close: Assist with the monthly close process to ensure financial results are accurate and delivered on time.
• Reconciliations: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, create monthly journal entries, and perform balance sheet account reconciliations, resolving any variances.
• Asset Management: Manage the fixed asset schedule and post depreciation journal entries each month.
• Cost Accounting: Take responsibility for job cost accounting for various single-family housing developments and multi-family projects.
• Operational Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers for multi-family project cost reviews and work with the operations team to drive process improvement and cost savings.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, with a foundational understanding of general ledger, month-end close processes, and account reconciliations.
• Experience: Prior experience with general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations is a plus, but not required. Exposure to the construction industry, including job cost and construction WIP accounting, is also beneficial.
• Skills: Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, intermediate mathematical abilities, mastery of Excel formulas, and an aptitude for prioritizing and coordinating various tasks.
• Bonus: Mastery of the entire Microsoft Suite, knowledge of Microsoft Great Dynamics (GP), a desire to obtain CPA license, and the ability to build strong relationships while being results-driven, energetic, and self-motivated.
