Staff Accountant (Hospitality) | Jobot

The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role for a client of Jobot. The client is an established entertainment and hospitality organization operating in a highly regulated environment. • Mission: Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with organizational policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements to support general ledger reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, automated financial systems

What You’ll Actually Do
• Verify Financials: Gather and review financial information to accurately verify balance sheet accounts, which include bank accounts, cash, inventory, and other specified accounts.
• Reconcile Accounts: Perform account reconciliations and prepare monthly summary statements with all necessary supporting documentation.
• Support Management: Provide managers with financial data and clear explanations to help them understand departmental performance and interpret financial statements effectively.
• Manage General Ledger: Prepare and post journal entries and adjustments to maintain an accurate general ledger and ensure timely financial reporting, including assisting with daily and month-end revenue journal entries.
• Track Cash Flow: Prepare detailed cash flow information reflecting daily banking activity and complete comprehensive monthly bank reconciliations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career level, requiring a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and preferring a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: One or more years of relevant accounting or financial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
• Skills: Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail; strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities; proficiency with Microsoft Office and automated financial systems; strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Previous experience within a regulated industry and familiarity with applicable financial, tax, and regulatory requirements is preferred.
