This Director FP&A role is critical for leading the India-based finance team, providing essential financial support for Chegg’s global (US-based) organization. The role drives strategic planning, analysis, and delivers actionable financial insights, directly contributing to the company’s growth and operational efficiency, thereby enabling Chegg to continue modernizing the learning experience for students everywhere.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Model Ownership: Own and rigorously manage complex financial models for both revenue and expense across assigned business units, ensuring their accuracy, insightfulness, and alignment with Chegg’s overarching organizational goals.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Partner directly with US and India finance and executive leadership teams to drive strategic decision-making, developing and executing comprehensive annual budgets, long-range plans, and rolling forecasts.
• Performance Insights & Reporting: Deliver timely and actionable insights on business performance, cost optimization, and revenue growth opportunities, including supporting monthly/quarterly close processes, flux analysis, and preparing Board-ready materials for senior leadership and Investor Relations.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and foster the professional growth of a team of 3–5 financial analysts, ensuring high analytical rigor, accuracy, and consistent high performance within the finance function.
• Operational Excellence & Business Partnership: Drive process automation and standardization across forecasting, reporting, and analysis, enhance financial models and dashboards, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide essential financial leadership for strategic initiatives, new projects, pricing, and investment decisions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. This role demands extensive expertise in corporate finance, FP&A, or business finance.
• Experience: 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance or FP&A, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing teams and demonstrating full P&L ownership. Experience supporting or partnering with US-based or multinational organizations is also required.
• Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities; strong communication skills with the capability to present complex financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders; and high proficiency in Excel coupled with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial modeling.
• Bonus: An MBA or CA/CPA qualification is preferred; familiarity with modern financial systems such as NetSuite, Adaptive, or Power BI; and comfort working effectively in a global time zone environment while collaborating virtually with US teams.
