The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at The Bonadio Group, located in various Upstate New York offices including Albany, Buffalo, East Aurora, Rochester, and Syracuse. The Bonadio Group is a public accounting firm dedicated to helping clients navigate financial landscapes and achieve their objectives. This internship allows students to perform meaningful accounting work, collaborate with experienced professionals, and gain firsthand exposure to the challenges and rewards of public accounting, serving as a launchpad for their careers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contribute to client engagements by performing meaningful accounting work in areas like tax, small business advisory, or assurance.
• Prepare and analyze financial information, supporting documentation, and various accounting statements or tax returns.
• Collaborate with experienced professionals, including staff, senior accountants, managers, and partners, on client projects.
• Assist with accounting research, planning, and specialized projects to deliver client services.
• Develop technical accounting skills and professional confidence through hands-on experience and mentorship.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Active enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s in accounting program; Entry-Level.
• Experience: Coursework that supports progress toward the requirements for CPA eligibility.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and analytical abilities, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
