Position: Specimen Processor I
Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated Specimen Processor I to join our team. This vital role contributes to the accuracy of millions of healthcare tests every month by ensuring specimens are handled correctly and efficiently.
Location
Earth City Branch, 4030 Wedgeway Ct, Earth City, MO
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (daily overtime possible)
- Rotating Saturdays
Job Summary
The Specimen Processor I will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment. If you are organized, accountable, and possess a high level of attention to detail, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in strengthening physician care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
- Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
- Accurately identify and label specimens.
- Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
- Meet department activity and production goals.
- Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
- Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
- Resolve and document any problem specimens.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year or more experience in a lab/accessioning, production/manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
- 6 months or more of medical or production experience.
- 6 months or more of data entry experience.
Additional Job Standards & Skills
- Comfortable handling biological specimens.
- Ability to accurately identify specimens.
- Experience working effectively in a team environment.
- Strong data entry and organizational skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to pass a standardized color blind test.

Casual, PRN & Part-Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
