Special Projects Analyst (Early Career) | Boom Supersonic

The Tone:
This is an early career role at Boom Supersonic, located in Centennial, CO. Boom is dedicated to building Overture, the world’s first commercially viable supersonic airliner, aiming to make sustainable supersonic travel a reality. As a Special Projects Analyst, you will join a team of universal problem-solvers who parachute into the most urgent or broken areas across the company, not merely to recommend solutions but to own and implement the fixes. This position is crucial for overcoming critical obstacles, accelerating company initiatives, and directly impacting Boom’s ambitious mission to revolutionize air travel with a new generation of aircraft.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Problem Ownership: Own a real problem end to end, or a meaningful piece of one, driving the fix rather than just making recommendations.
• Project Recovery: Step in on a critical project that’s slipping, determine what’s blocking it, clarify ownership, and drive it back on track.
• Strategic Analysis: Run the comprehensive analysis behind real business decisions, such as site selection, make-vs-buy scenarios, or detailed cost breakdowns.
• Process Development: Build durable business processes for functions like intake, reporting cadences, and approval flows that will be utilized by teams long-term.
• Operational Logistics: Lead the complex logistics of significant operational moves, including the relocation of test cells, massive machines, or entire labs with minimal downtime.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professionals with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a quantitative or finance field from a strong academic program.
• Experience: Demonstrated evidence of doing hard things early in your career, such as starting a company, leading a team that delivered results, or performing significant work during projects or internships usually reserved for more experienced professionals. You should have a track record of finishing hard things, both within academic and external environments.
• Skills: Strong analytical horsepower, including proficiency in spreadsheets and the ability to build financial or operational models from scratch, alongside a keen ability to get to ground truth.
