Job Description

Rotational Development Program | Flexport

The Tone:
This is an 18-month Rotational Development Program at Flexport. Flexport is a company dedicated to making global commerce easy, believing global trade moves the human race forward, and shaping the future of a $10T industry. This program is critical for building a unique skill set combining real supply chain fluency with the ability to build and automate, which is currently scarce in the market. Participants will gain hands-on experience in live, revenue-generating work to develop the operational and technical capabilities essential for running global trade.

The TL;DR
• Role: Early Career
• Type: Full-time
• Mission: To build the operational and technical skill set that runs global trade by developing professionals with supply chain fluency and automation capabilities.
• Tech Stack: AI, low-code tooling, SQL, workflow automation, Lean process improvement

What You’ll Actually Do
• Global Logistics: During the Gateway Operations rotation (Air or Ocean), you will own the shipment lifecycle, executing bookings, managing exceptions, and ensuring data integrity to Flexport’s standards while building initial automation and reporting skills through coursework.
• Trade Compliance: In the Customs rotation, you will become a global trade expert by navigating complex customs regulations to ensure goods comply with international laws, concurrently applying technical skills in SQL, workflow automation, and Lean process improvement.
• Client Solutions: Within the Sales or Account Management rotation, you will take on go-to-market work, build client-facing skills, and operate with increasing independence to identify and solve a real business problem with tooling or process fixes as your capstone project.
• Technical Development: Continuously acquire certifications in AI and low-code tooling, progressing from foundational bootcamps through applied builds to a final capstone project, directly applying these skills across all rotations.
• Program Engagement: Receive guidance from a day-to-day manager and a dedicated Rotation Program Manager with regular evaluations, engage in bi-weekly cohort touchpoints, and connect with a standing alumni mentor community.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. On track to graduate or recently graduated individuals seeking to build a career at the intersection of supply chain operations and technology, rather than focusing solely on one aspect. Genuinely curious about AI and low-code tooling, with a desire to build real fluency beyond resume embellishment.
• Experience: Not specified in years. Demonstrates readiness for immediate ownership of live client and business work from the program’s outset, as this is not a shadowing or classroom-based program.
• Skills: Ability to operate with minimal supervision, prioritize a high volume of work, and communicate clearly under pressure. Possesses a strong compliance-first mindset, understanding its importance in a heavily regulated industry across all rotations.
