What You’ll Actually Do
• Compliance Tracking: Track due dates for Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Evaluation Reports (ERs), keeping special education staff informed of timelines and maintaining a comprehensive master calendar.
• Data Management: Maintain the current year’s special education caseload, tracking and compiling data to comply with state-mandated requirements, including assisting with December 1 Child Count deadlines.
• Document Processing: Process and disseminate necessary forms and paperwork for student re-evaluations and Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
• Meeting Coordination: Schedule special education meetings efficiently using Microsoft Outlook for various stakeholders.
• Information Dissemination: Communicate effectively by phone, in person, or in writing with school and District personnel, students, parents, and the general public.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Proven administrative support background, specifically within specialized education environments.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency with Windows/Microsoft Office Word, EasyIEP, Microsoft Outlook, Skyward Student and Financial, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel; minimum word processing speed of 50 wpm.
• Skills: Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities; strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines; effective communication and interpersonal skills, including maintaining confidentiality and positive human relations.
