Software Engineering Intern Role Description
This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside world-class engineers at Qualcomm, contributing to the development, implementation, and maintenance of software for complex wireless devices. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will be involved in:
• Pushing the boundaries of existing technology: Help establish new standards for tomorrow’s wireless devices.
• Contributing to high-impact projects: Make an immediate impact on the software development lifecycle of Qualcomm’s various technologies.
• Leveraging your technical skills: Apply your computer science or engineering knowledge to real-world challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for this internship, you must meet the following requirements:
• Current enrollment: Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Availability: Be available for 11-14 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-September) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later.
• Programming experience: Have at least 1 year of academic experience with programming languages C, C++, or Python.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience will be highly considered:
• Extensive programming in C/C++
• Object-oriented software design and development
• Distributed systems and networking protocols
• Multi-threaded programming
• Multi-core and multi-processor systems
• System performance optimization
• Experience in complex software debugging
• Knowledge of modeling concepts (e.g., discrete event simulation, polyglot programming)
• Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., bridging, routing), especially in Linux
• Anticipated graduation within the upcoming year (December 2025 to June 2026)
